Hello!
I just recieved my ACT scores. I got a 31 composite. English: 34 Math: 31 Reading: 33 Science: 27.
I am absolutely content with those scores. But I got lazy, and ended up with a 7 on the writing portion.
I don't want to take it again. I was only able to pull that 31 because of major studying and a tutor.
How bad is a 7? I am hoping to apply to some great schools, how much weight will they put on that 7?

As someone who has gotten a 10 both times on the essay without preparation, I can tell you that unfortunately no one gives a ***** about the writing score. If you’re applying to schools that have an emphasis on math and science (Purdue, Duke, MIT, etc…) then it REALLY won’t matter. A 7 isn’t even bad in the first place.

Okay, thank you. But what about at schools that require the ACT writing for your application? Will it matter more? I am hoping to get into USC, and they require the writing section. :/
