Act?

My SAT Writing and Reading scores are very good, but my Math score is low (630). It took me a lot of effort to raise it up to a 630 from a 580 and I don't see myself getting any higher than a 650. Also, I only have one SAT Subject Test in mind, I have no idea what my second would be...

So I took an ACT practice test the other day and I got a 30, but I think I can do better. Would it be fine for me to just take the ACT and send it in by itself?

Well, if you think you can do better on the ACT, by all means I recommend taking it. I got in with a 31 on the ACT, and that’s the only score I sent. If you want to send just one score, you can, but there’s nothing wrong with sending others. If you do well on the ACT you can definitely get in. However, a 30 on the ACT would require that you have strong credentials in other areas.

Well I’m hispanic and one of my parents went there, so I’m hoping that will help. I also have strong EC’s and a decent GPA so I was hoping the ACT/SAT wouldn’t be too important as long as I did good enought

Any other opinions?
