I recently took the ACT test on Septemeber 10th and have still not receive my scores. My peers have all received their scores. I have called the ACT agents a number of times, only to be put on hold for 45 minutes or more, and then to finally speak to an agent who spoke condescendingly to me and provided no help. The October ACTs are this weekend and without my score report I have no way of knowing how to prepare. Also, I cannot apply early to colleges without these scores. On top of this, my experience taking the ACT was horrendous as they did not process my accommodations correctly. I have taken the SATs as well and have found them to be accommodating, understanding, and very well organized. I am extremely disappointed with the ACTs and their way of handling this situation.
Maybe ask your high school counselor to call? Or a parent who is good at being listened to? You probably have a reasonable idea of how well you did or didn’t do on certain sections. That sounds like an excuse. Start studying.
What did you mean by “they did not process my accommodations correctly”? What accommodations do you have?
Both my high school counselor and parents called and it was still not helpful. I didn’t really have any idea of how I did on any of the sections - so no, not an excuse at all. I ended up taking the October ACT as well but then found out later that week that I received a 36 on my ACT’s.
I have accommodations for breaks as needed and access to water throughout the test for a chronic health condition. The ACT approved these accommodations but did not explain them properly in my paperwork so my proctor didn’t give me accommodations during the test.
