I took the ACT for the first time in October and just got my scores. I got a 34 composite (35E, 34M, 34R, 34S). However later I learned that I only got an 8 on the essay, bringing my ELA score down to a 30. I’m looking to apply to schools such as Brown, Williams, etc., so will this impact my chances of getting in? I’m a junior so I still have time to retake but I was hoping to be done and am happy with my 34.
I believe Brown dropped the essay requirement. Most schools have moved in that direction. Personally I wouldn’t bother retaking.
