Does anyone happen to know if non-majors/non-minors can take acting classes at USC? And if so, would it be hard for a beginner to take these classes with majors/minors who are much more experienced?

[THTR | USC Schedule of Classes](302 Found)

THTR 101 seems to be what you’re looking for. As of today (4 days before classes start) there’s still a number of spaces open. Other classes in that category are open to non-majors as well, with the notable exception of 120a/b

Thanks so much, Hawkwings! Are you a theater major yourself?

No, I’m an engineer

Haha, nice. Did you ever take any theater classes? Or did you just find that link special for me? :)

I’ve never taken any theater classes, no. And honestly, the link isn’t hard to find. www.usc.edu/soc is the schedule of classes, and from there you can find any class that they offer.

Hawkwings is correct, the class you’re looking for is THTR 101. You can also look into THTR 122, which is more of a fun class but still along the lines.

Yup, non-theater majors can definitely take acting classes! As long as it can fit into your schedule, you are free to take whatever you can. But you have to take the intro level courses first, of course, because the higher ones require those intro level courses as prerequisites. I tried to get into the introduction to acting class, but alas, as a business/cinema major already, I didn’t have any room for it. :(
