(This is my first post on this site, so I apologize in advance if I've thrown this post into the wrong thread! I don't think I have, but I figured I'd add a disclaimer in anyway.)

Okay, so I'm almost done with the Common Application. The way I've filled it out, under the activities tab, instead of listing my clubs, I listed what I actually DID in the club and then added which club it was under in the extra information.

Here are examples:

"Activity 4: Activity type: Foreign Language
Position/Leadership: Five Years of Spanish Language Class (from Eighth)
Participation grade levels: 9, 10, 11, 12
I intend to participate while in college: Yes
Timing of participation: School Hours spent per week: 4
Weeks spent per year: 36 Details, honors won, and accomplishments: While not a "club", I am truly enamored with the Spanish language. I am the only student of my graduating class (432) taking AP Spanish Literature."

and

"Activity type: Community Service (Volunteer)
Position/Leadership: (NHS Member) Cunningham Creek Elementary
Participation grade levels: 11 I intend to participate while in college: No
Timing of participation: School Hours spent per week: 2 Weeks spent per year: 4
Details, honors won, and accomplishments:
Tutored children once a week in reading, spelling, and mathematics. Helped at the Halloween Carnival and taught children to share and have fun."

Now, for the majority of the activities, I DID put the position clearly and didn't do it backwards like this. I just did NHS and other volunteering (and Spanish, but that's irrelevant) backwards so I could list what I DID, not what I was called.

My main question is: are admissions officers going to feel that I neglected to read the directions, and thus feel negative about my application? I know I'm not following the directions to a T but I feel like this method makes my application much more three-dimensional and full.

What do you guys think?

P.S. - I'm not sure if my question is totally clear, but I'm having a hard time writing it. I'll add more information if the replies seem like I haven't detailed this enough.

Thanks!
