I had an interview with Bryant University this morning and we discussed applications and said that they allow applicants to switch around the scores from multiple testing dates to get the best score. So in case you didnt do so well in the math section on one of the dates, you can take the math from another date.

Is this true and is this true for many colleges?

Lots of colleges and universities superscore. They like to do this because then they can use those better total scores to show how smart their applicants are which makes them (the college/university) look even better for the rankings.

Read all about it at Not Your Average Admissions Blog “A Beneath the Surface Look At Everything College Admissions (with a few shameless plugs)” the very funny, and informative blog written by the dean of admissions at George Mason U.

^that's interesting... do a lot of colleges superscore for the ACT then?
