Mixing and Matching

Alright this is a stupid question that I couldn't figure out myself. Rumor has it that for the SAT, colleges take your best math, verbal, etc. score from each test and put them together for your overall score. Is this even true? I'm just wondering if the same concept applies for the ACT. It doesn't make much of a difference for me, but I want to make myself look as good as possible.

Eng Math Read Science Writing Sub Comb. English/Writing Composite Date
27 28 35 28 10 28 30 02/2005
35 31 34 35 9 32 34 04/2005

I would only go up 1 point in reading and 1 in writing, but if they would ignore the lower score, wouldn't it be worth it?

The same isn't said for the ACT. Composite is all that colleges care about.

Some colleges will mix and match the ACT.

Where can I find out which colleges mix and match? I have no clue.

It should be on their websites on their policies about ACT/SAT test scores. If they don't have it, assume it's one-sitting. Also, gexxman is right that some colleges do, but the majority (and the Ivies, UCs, etc) don't.

34 is good enough anyways lol
