<p>Do competitive engineering schools weigh ACT or SAT more heavily? If you do better on ACT, should you not submit SAT scores? For some reason, I tend to believe that schools will prefer SATs? I don't know why I think this. Probably because the hype is always about top "SAT" score, as opposed to ACT. Any prior experience?</p>
<p>Why not take both and submit both? Some people find that taking the ACT first helps them take the SAT. I've heard that the SAT is more a test about taking tests and is more subjective.</p>
<p>I don't think that schools prefer the SAT (unless its the only one they want) due to the recent poor testing results....in other words they don't trust it as the only means to see a student's knowledge.</p>
<p>Either is fine. All those schools profess to have no preference. If you do not want to believe what they say, that is up to you.</p>
