Actual Price of In-state tuition + room and board?

I will be attending UD next year. I didn't get any financial aid or scholarship so I was wondering what is the exact number an in-state student pays? They say on the website it's around 18k, but the numbers are always different depending on food plan and which dorm you receive. Can someone who has a S or D or who is a student there, tell me the exact number what they pay and the features they pay for.

Thanks so much!

I want to get my number the cheapest as possible, however I know they randomly assign dorm rooms, how can I get the cheapest dorm room? (yet still nice)

Sorry to tell you this, but it’s closer to $30k. Around $20k tuition and $10k room and board. Did you fill out your FAFSA? They should have sent you a sheet with the info.

I’m not sure that you can get a "cheapest dorm room’. You’d just get a standard one.

In-state: $17,124
Out-of-state: $29,604

As a freshman, you don’t get any choice. I expect that all freshman room prices are the same, with possible exception of overcrowd situations if they get more acceptances than they expect. As an upperclassman you have more choice on room selection so might be able to get a less expensive room. But probably not a big difference from least to most expensive.

Good luck! My D might be there with you - she still has to decide between UD and one other.

Is the food plan included in the room and board price?

If you read the link posted above by K9, you would see that “room” and “board” are different line items.
