<p>My roommate told me that if you don't get into the class (by this week), that you can appeal through the add cart. I should be asking the professor this (which I will, I just want a second, third.. etc opinion) What's the chance of me getting into a class like chem 6c say I don't get off the waitlisted (of which I'm first) through this method. If I don't get in, I probably won't have enough unit. This in itself would probably be a strong enough reason to appeal, right? </p>

<p>not every department uses the add card … chem is one of them. switch into an open section if you can, otherwise you’ll have to wait until next quarter.</p>
<p>and the units argument probably won’t work because you’re [most likely] a freshman and have a slew of GEs to finish off.</p>
<p>professors have no say in who gets into their class and who doesn’t. it’s ranking on the waitlist that matters … unless you’re in cahoots with someone in the department office. (i used to bake a lot of cookies …)</p>
