<p>I may have to change my schedule around during the add/drop period and I looked at the student center now to see what time slots for which courses are still open.</p>
<p>My question is, will some slots for some courses open up without people dropping the class? (physics 1112 discussion slot specifically) Like does Cornell keep one or two slots in reserve for the add/drop time? </p>

<p>It’s too bad the discussion filled up, but one thing that might help you out in this case is that physics 1112 is the lowest physics class (as in, the introductory one), so some people might take the advance standing test and decide not to take it, opening spots up. Good luck!</p>
<p>well I originally signed up for physics 2213, heat and E&M since I had credit from AP physics B, but since I’m going for mechanical engineering, I’ve been told its best to retake mechanics to ground my understanding. </p>
<p>Plus physics B didn’t have any calc based physics in it. Hopefully some spots will open up, I just need one of two discussion spots to open up thursday/friday.</p>
<p>There are no “reserved” slots. If there are zero open slots during add/drop still contact the department and they’ll find a way to get you in. You can pretty much always get in somewhere for basic intro classes like phys 1112.</p>
