Do I need a permission number from the instructor to enroll in a class during the add/drop time if there are now seats available?

does the course normally require a permission number to get in? If so, you will need to request one. If you are switching into a course that doesn't need a permission number (math, econ, biology, chemistry, etc.), you can go ahead and make the switch yourself.

The class itself doesn't require a permission number, but it's saying I need some pin number to register at all. How do I get the pin number?

Ahh. You get your pin from your advisor at your one on one meeting when you get to campus in a few weeks.

I guess maybe you can't drop/add anything until then? Perhaps email PMAC and ask what's up with that.

ohh yeah, i forgot about that. It didn't matter to me last year because I was in FOCUS and thus only had to worry about once class, and once I got in, I didn't want to change it.

hey can we just not worry at all about textbooks until orientation week? Will all good deals on used books be gone by then?

no don't worry about the books at all. Just get them when you get a chance after you move in. There aren't really any "deals," the only differences in prices are whether you want a new or used book. I always go used, they are usually in almost perfect condition. Don't worry about them running out of used books. At least, I've never had a problem finding a used copy if I wanted one, even a week after classes started.
