when does the change in class availability show? when will the website course schedule show previously closed classes as open, due to people who didnt' pay?

The 27th and 29th for people who have already registered and paid.

the change in class availability shows up now. you can add/drop starting the 27th

Kcirsch do you know if there is a specific time that it starts? Or it just random?

Registration/Add-Drop Access Schedule
Fall Semester 2006

Sun, Aug 27 9:00am - 12noon, 3:00pm - 5:00pm, 6:00pm - Midnight
Tue, Aug 29 10:00am - 2:00pm, 3:00pm - 5:00pm

not sure if this only applies to me, or to everyone.

Yeah I just found that site too, and it varies from person to person. Here's mine:

Sun, Aug 27 8:00am - 12noon, 3:00pm - 5:00pm, 6:00pm - Midnight
Tue, Aug 29 11:00am - 5:00pm

should be a good day. Hopefully some people forget to pay their tuition and some drops happen because I'm hunting for a few courses.

what site is it that lists your times?

RIS page (10 chars)

I noticed today that almost every single class that was opened after the pay day last week closed today for the new registering students. Can anyone confirm what the likelihood of these classes opening again? Or am I pretty much stuck with the classes I have now?

It's pretty much being in the right place at the right time. If someone drops a class for whatever reason, the opening in the class will appear on-line and you just have to be looking at the time to snag that opening. Otherwise, someone else who happens to be on-line looking for a space in that class can snag it.

BTW, I have heard of situations where an upper classman will sign up for a popular class during their assigned registration time to save a spot for an underclassman. They then get on-line at the same time on two computers so that when the upperclassman drops the class and the underclassman immediately adds it.

i think add/drop would be more effective and beneficial to students if add/drop take place at the same time for all students, meaning A-Z from 8-12or something

no, that's not a good idea. Their system would be hammered by too much activity.

Gah, some of you people need to drop PHL 304 so I can take it lol. If I get off the waitlist, I will call this semester's registration a success.

What really needs to happen is whoever has PSY 301 with Salinas needs to drop!

Haha I guess I am guilty of that action.
