adding schools last minute..

Schools already applied to:
American, GWU, Georgetown, USC, Northeastern (deferred), Miami (FL), McGill

I'm looking for schools in an urban environment with strong programs in Arabic and IR. Athletics are also important to be so I want to be in a school where the students care about being fit and participate in physical activities.

I realize that it's already late December, but I would like to add more schools. I have two safety schools where I've already been accepted, but I honestly would be extremely unhappy if I ended up having to attend. Right now I'm thinking about adding Occidental, Pitzer, and Richmond. Do these schools match my interests? Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

basic stats:
3.1 UW (yea i know..)
29 ACT (32 R, 32 E, 26 M, 25 S)
excellent recs and ECs, pretty good essays

Occidental is supposed to be good for IR. Maybe look at Macalaster too. For Arabic you will really have to check how much depth schools have in that department.

They match your interests but not your GPA.

I probably shouldve included more information about my GPA…it is about a 3.8 W at an independent day school

Are you in Calif?

What are your safety schools?

Since you go to a private school, should we assume that money is not a concern?

Did you take the SAT?

That’s good rigor in your classes but still a 3.1UW.

You have a shot at American. You should check out Syracuse and Boston University.

mom2collegekids, I don’t live in California, though I’d really like to go to college there. I do go to private school but money is definitely a concern. I took the SAT but my ACT scores are much better.

ricegal, I’ve looked at Syracuse but I really want to be in a bigger city. I know its likely I’ll get into American but the neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired in comparison to living in Georgetown or Foggy Bottom…

bump .
