Should I treat this like a third essay or disregard?

Definitely not a 3rd essay. Only put something there if you have something to tell the UCs that has not yet been properly reflected on your application (perhaps bad grades 1st semester, special circumstances, reasons for the inability to complete pre-reqs…)

Perhaps if there were additional things you wanted to list or say in the activities section but couldn’t fit it all in. Don’t rehash something you already listed though. It is perfectly acceptable to also leave it blank.

You guys think it would be ok to say something in there about having family in the Sacramento area so Davis would be the easiest school for me to attend etc. ?

^ lol no. Never say anything about a particular school, unless you are applying to that ONE school only.

^^I did that too…but in my personal statement…sort of. Except the closest UC to me is LA so…=/ You probably shouldn’t do it though if you are applying to others, like sparkyboy said.

I advise you all not to mention geographical location either in PS or Add. Comments because unlike the Cal States, UCs don’t really care about it. Many have told me that, and last Thursday the rep from Cal spoke about it too (on CollegeWeekLive), even though they had something called “holistic” review. Unless you are applying to one single college, avoid doing so…
