The prompt for the second essay for UPenn goes something like this: What is the course of study and characteristics of UPenn that most interest you? and why do those interests make you a good match for Penn? i answered the first quesiton in my essay pretty well, but the second part of the question i am really not sure how to answer (how can my interest make me an desirable candidate?)can someone who has done the UPenn essay give me some advice?

BUMP :) yay

what do YOU have to offer Penn?
and what does Penn offer you?

i haven't actually written my essay yet (tho i really should), but i think for that part of the question i'm going to write about how i will bring an intense passion for chemistry to the university.. or something like that..

in other words, write about some passion you have and show it's unique (cause if it's unique, penn def. wants you..)

i would suggest you take one pt that impresses you about pen - what they are proud of and use the second part of the prompt to make that feature taylor fit you - at the end you want them to read something on the lines of : xyz about pen makes it unique and i am a perfect canditate for xyz program/professor/course because i have abc experience and amt of intrest seen in my resume/personal profile.
if you want i will take a look at it for you. just PM me.

(ps: i am in med school so i am not applying to upen but thats what i would answer to a two part question like that - bc they are obviously linked for a reason)

Does this question really ask what do you offer to Penn? I think it more asks why are you and Penn meant to be. I mean, yeah, if you're great at math, you can offer that to Penn, but the essay is more asking why you as a PERSON (with your interests, such as math) can FIT with Penn.

actually zogoto for questions like this...you SHOULD present to them what you can offer them...why you should be put on their campus...what can you as an individual bring that no one else can...thats what will get you in..they want unique people not the run of the mill smart kids that do the same things
