<p>I was wondering if it would be appropriate to use the additional info section of the common app to talk about how my parents' divorce forced my mom to get a job, which forced me into having to pick up my little brother 3-4 days a week. That limited my ability to have clubs and EC and I want colleges to know that.</p>
<p>If you don’t want to provide that much detail, you could put picking up your little brother after school as an Activity (under the ‘other’ category)</p>
<p>I’m fine with going into detail; I just want colleges to know I had family obligations that limited my ability to participate in ecs. Maybe I’ll do both…</p>
