Additional Info

Here is the thing: I have more than 6 meaningful ECs. On the Penn app I put my 6 most time consuming activities, but that still left me with JETS and Econ Challenge. For JETS, my team was 1st in our state and 4th in the country. For Econ challenge my team was 1st in the state and 3rd in the region. These two activities did not take up much of my time. The placement, however, is more meaningful than 4 of my other activities. Should I put these under awards? Also, I have maybe 5 other ECs along with the 6 I put on the app and the two I put under awards and there is no room on the app to put them and no additional info section to add more ECs or anything else. Do I mail Penn an activties list with these other activities or just mention them in an interview and hope they get noticed?

In your case I would definitely make an activities list to mail separately.

i think im going to send an activity list also. my only question is can i mail it to them even though i'm doing my application online?

Thats what i'm wondering too. Penn seems like they do not want an activities list because thier additional info section is for art supplements and pictures. Guess they care more waht you look like than if you were on three varsity teams, debate, class president, politically involved, and had a few strong commmunity service activities (more than the 6 spaces they give you). I should have asked the adcom when she came to my school, but i hadnt started part II yet.

I sent an activity sheet by mail last year and I did the application online. Just be sure to put your name and social security or other identifying information clearly on it.

^Did you get in? by sending the extra activity list? I dont want to hurt my chances by sending in extra stuff they do not want, I know some colleges hold extra materials against you.

I sent in an extra list when I applied too, and I got in.

Yes, I got in as well.

hmm, maybe i'll mail them a little list of activities. i still have 3 days.

if we mail a list of activities, should we include a cover sheet or is it ok to just have the sheet with name/SS # on top

Is it okay to not send in an extra activity sheet, or would that affect my chances? I put my most meaningful activities and awards in the space provided, and the others just aren't as significant/important to me.
I am submitting supplemental art slides though.

^ you just answered your own question, do not send in a list of activities that are not meaningful to you.
