On the section that allows applicants to submit "additional information" under the Writing tab, would it appropriate if I write about how even though I am not a member of a service club (volunteer organization) at my school, throughout my high school career, I did volunteer work independently? My school is extremely competitive and selective when accepting new members for a service club - I find it incredibly ironic that students have to TRY out in order to be a part of a volunteer club, especially since 99.9% of the time it turns into a popularity contest. If it is appropriate that I include this information in this section, what information should I present?

This is definitely relevant information but you don’t need to list it in the Add’l Information section. Volunteer work outside school should be listed in the Activities section.
