When I was doing my app for colleges, I was told that the "additional information" section was usually for students who got into trouble or was seriously ill or something like that...so I didn't utilize the section and now I realize I've left off little things like volunteer work for city council and getting the candidates elected...is that kind of volunteer work important enough to be sent separately to colleges? Will they be annoyed or is it something I should send on a separate sheet of paper?

Sounds like you've answered you own question if you consider the volunteer work for the city council "little".

So, if you already listed other volunteer and additional non-academic things on your original application(s), then no you should not send in "additional information".

Generally, the additional sections are for reporting anything else that is a big deal and impacted you in some way.

I forgot to add stuff too. : (

But I just had a chocolate milkshake and dealt with it.
