Does anyone know if Wesleyan would accept a third, non-academic letter of recommendation? I tried calling the Admissions Office, but it's closed for the holidays. I have a letter from the supervisor of a social justice organization I'm involved in, and it mentions a lot that my teacher recs undoubtedly didn't. Did anyone who got in ED or who is a current student send an extra letter? Thanks!

I'm sure it's fine. My son is a sophomore, a serious pianist, and he sent in an extra letter from his piano teacher. The general rule is that if the extra letter provides info or insight about you that no other letter covers, go for it.

I agree with Skie. I also sent in an extra letter when I applied ED- it was from the chair of my high school's math department (whom I had helped with some projects)... I had called Wes admissions and they said go right ahead.

The absolute worst that happens is that they don't read it. The best is it gets you into Wesleyan. I say send it!

^^^ Exactly. Go for it! :)

Great, thanks!
