Additional Recommenders?

<p>I have 3 recommenders (on top of the mandatory counselor rec) that have already written me recommendations although they haven't submitted them to CommonApp yet.</p>

<p>Cornell & Vanderbilt both require 1 counselor and 2 academic teacher rec's.</p>

<p>However, I have 1 counselor and 3 academic teacher rec's.</p>

<p>So...my problem is that it gives only two slots for the teacher rec's.</p>

<p>I'd like to submit that 3rd rec. So, can that teacher that I do not put into the required field for teacher 1 and teacher 2 still submit her rec?</p>

<p>Ask the individual college admissions officers if supplementary materials are accepted at their schools, and if so, then mail the recs (put your full name and irthdate and address on each). The common app only has space for the recs required by each college, but many colleges will accept additional materials. You just have to ask them. Or take your chances and just go ahead and mail them, realizing that some may not use them.</p>
