Of course, HS have reps, like everywhere else. If the HS does a decent job, the HS lets the colleges their students are interested in know about the high school & how wonderful & special the students there are, how well their students have done at the relevant colleges (& their competitors), as well as how competitive the HS is statewide & nationally, etc.

High schools do that? I guess my high school sucked.

Same thing happened to me....this is sooooo incredibly frustrating...i have nowhere else to go. i did everything, my transcripts were "not received"....im sure they were. They made sure to send those stupid notifications on friday night at the end of their business hours so that we couldnt reach them until monday morning. Then they gave a dumb number that wouldnt let me leave a message...it just told me that the mailbox was invalid. did anyone else try calling that number? The email address was non reply so there was nothing else to do. Can someone tell me where to go to find that checklist again? I cant remember how to pull it up. We should get all of the UCSD Accepted rejects together to fight this one. None of us are to blame....this is so rediculous.

High schools vary considerably--the less the school does, the more the student & family have to do. Dealing with large bureaucracies like UCSD is a challenge, no two ways about it. I'd not get overly stressed but DO try to find your report card for the end of senior year & scan it & attach it to an e-mail to them with a note that you'll be contacting them 1st thing Monday, 7/31, to straighten all of this out & contact your HS 1st thing Monday (the time zone will help you so you can find someone at your HS before CA even opens up its offices).

If you go to this webpage, they have contact info about their admissions office.

If you're going to a huge university like UCSD, it's good to get used to dealing with redtape because there will be a lot of it. Hope this is helpful & good luck in getting things straightened out 1st thing Monday.

P.S. HS rep means high school REPUTATION, not an individual that serves as an official REPresentative. The college counselor tries to keep contact with colleges that the HS tends to send students to, but counselors are stretched pretty thin everywhere.

Yeah, I interpreted it as reputation.
