I was curious if anybody could help determine how good or bad my chances are at being accepted to FSU for summer session! It has been my number one choice for as long as I could remember and can't picture myself attending any other college. I am a junior living in Florida and I currently attend my local public high school.

I am a mostly A student with the exception of one or two B's every semester. I have only received one C throughout all of high school and it was a 4th quarter grade my freshman year but my semester grade had averaged to a B.
My GPA is 3.71 and my weighted GPA is a 4.1
All my academic classes are honors but I have never taken an AP class before.
I have taken the SAT's and I got a 1600.
reading:500
math: 580
writing:520
Yes I am retaking them and this time I am doing intense studying to hopefully reach 1700. I have not taken the ACT but I plan on taking it over the summer. I have a strong background with a lot of involvement with my community and temple.

I was hoping someone could help explain my chances of being admitted to summer session at FSU for next year!

FSU admissions becomes increasingly more difficult every year. I think to make you more competitive you should take AP classes next year. They weigh that in a lot towards your admission. You can also try dual enrollment courses, they are easier than one would think. I would say an 1800 SAT is the “safe zone” for getting in. I got 1700 and I got in just fine, but I had a lengthy resume and a lot of dual enrollment, online, and AP courses. Try to get the reading up, reading and math is the most important of the sections. As long as you have it where reading + math= 1150 at least, your fine.

If you can, you need to take at least one AP class. Your GPA is good, but Honors-only classes with a low SAT (barely meeting FSU minimums in writing and reading) isn’t going to cut it.

Summer is less difficult to get into than the Fall, but that doesn’t mean that it’s all that big of a difference.

I’d say likelihood is along the lines of 25%.

Thank you both! I’m currently registered for some dual enrollment courses senior year and I’m taking 2 AP classes next year as well. I am a very strong academic student so I have a good feeling those classes will really help boost my GPA up even higher; increasing my odds off a fairly low SAT score. I am working to increase my reading to the high 500’s and my math shouldn’t be too difficult to raise it to the 600’s.
