I am a senior in high school and applied for summer 2012 to FSU. I have a 3.3 to 3.4 gpa 25 ACT and about 40-50 hours plus 2 sports and clubs and I am in the IB program at my school. Chances at summer 2012 honestly?

Is the 3.4 FSU weighted? That’s a bit below FSU’s average (3.7). Your ACT is right around the average.

Playing sports and being in clubs helps, and being in the IB program DEFINITELY helps. I’d try to up that ACT a bit, and I think you get in. Right now, I think you could be deferred at first, but still have a decent shot to get in.

Good luck!

Matt, is 3.7 and 25 the average for summer? I saw FSU advertising the new average was 3.9 GPA and 27 ACT for fall. Might even take a bigger jump next year if FSU cuts back enrollment.

I saw summer avg was 3.3 to 3.8

Keep in mind that FSU recalculated your GPA. I have a 3.3 unweighted and a 3.6 weighted. My recaculated GPA for FSU would be a 3.5

If you get your ACT up a few more points (up to a 28 or so), you would do yourself a LOT of favors. That’s not to say you can’t get in with your profile now, of course, just that it would definitely be a huge benefit to you.

Yeah mine is around a 3.4 and I plan on retaking the act. Am I borderline right now? Or can I not get in altogether

You have a very good shot right now getting in.

The only thing potentially holding you back is your ACT score. And even that isn’t bad.

Okay thank you for your advice. I a going to take the ACT again. Hopefully I get accepted
