Admission chances? RD

Please chance me!
I m an international applicant - I'm a good student, and my essays & LORs are really strong.
I have always been in the top 3 students of my class rank-wise. I go to a really competitive school.
My school doesn't have an A.P or GPA system, but I'm taking the hardest course offered. I participate in many extra curriculars - I'm mentioning some of the important ones below..
I am the Head Girl of my school and a member of the school's reputed basketball team. I am a keen writer and have had a book published this year!

Highest SAT 1 scores: Math: 720, C.R.: 710, Writing 750
SAT 2 scores: Lit. 690, Math 710
TOEFL: 117 (out of 120)

It’s really impossible to guess, and even though so many students want some idea about whether they might bet admitted, it really is not a numbers game alone but a decision made by a group of people who have to decide if someone is appealing and would offer something to Colgate by being admitted. They make these decisions among the better applicants, of course, and you would appear to be among them.

But Colgate also turns down “around” 65-70% of the students who apply, and many of them are very good students with high scores. They do this for many reasons, partly because of space, because of a feeling that a student would not benefit from Colgate or that they are too similar to everyone else and maybe even because they are convinced that they would not choose to attend Colgate even if they were admitted. Who really knows? So “chancing” anyone is, well, chancey. You can only know if you would be admitted to Colgate by applying to Colgate.

Harvard turns down over 90% of its applicants, but it gets more and more applicants every year. So, Harvard’s Admissions Office is in the business of making tens of thousands of students unhappy every year. At least Colgate Admissions Office doesn’t make nearly as many students unhappy! From the numbers you show and the descriptions you provide, I’d say you have a strong chance of admission to Colgate, but it really is entirely up to a group of people who know Colgate very well and have to make a personal decision about admitting someone.
