Please chance me!
I m an international applicant - I'm a good student, and my essays & LORs are really strong.
I have always been in the top 3 students of my class rank-wise. I go to a really competitive school.
My school doesn't have an A.P or GPA system, but I'm taking the hardest course offered. I participate in many extra curriculars - I'm mentioning some of the important ones below..
I am the Head Girl of my school and a member of the school's reputed basketball team. I am a keen writer and have had a book published this year!

Highest SAT 1 scores: Math: 720, C.R.: 710, Writing 750
SAT 2 scores: Lit. 690, Math 710
TOEFL: 117 (out of 120)

I have applied for financial aid…I know that ll make the competition tougher.
does the financial situation matter more or do one’s stats matter more? (for international applicants)

If you wrote a book, I’m sure you wrote phenomenal essays haha. I think you have a solid chance. Only problem is that RD for UChicago is like 10% acceptance rate, so even extremely qualified candidates will be rejected =[

Chicago at the moment is a high reach. As you can see, the forum members here don’t really know what they’re talking about.

Your SATs are below average for current Chicago students, much less admitted students, so even as a domestic applicant you’d have a hard time getting in without some kind of hook. But as an international applying for financial aid, that really really hurts your chances since Chicago is very, very stingy with aid toward internationals. Most internationals who got in while applying for financial aid were nearly perfect candidates, with 800s not just on the SAT I sections, but on their SAT IIs as well (not that Chicago looks at the latter, but it’s a testament to how qualified they are).
