I am an international student but attend the full US high school. I have GPA (unweighted) 3.95, ACT 33, SAT2 MATHII 770, USH 670 (planning to take bio and mathII in the Oct test day) and three APs (Calculus BC 5, Psychology 5, Chemistry 4 -- our school does not sugget sophomore and freshmen to take APs so I only had three in my Junior Year). I am now taking AP Lit, AP Bio, AP Stats, AP Art and Multi-variables. I am the Head Prefect of both dorm and Student Council, Volunteer Club President (organizing many activities), and Captain of the school Robortic Team. Got Award of AP Scholar, 6th in a national postcard design competition, one drawing was sold for $20 (it is pretty small) in the Marin high school art show. I went to the summer secession of Uchicago this summer and enrolled in 2 undergraduate classes (got A and B+, and a supplement recommendation from my senior lecturer of one of the class). I am applying EA this fall and want to major in biology (actually I got more award in art...should I apply art instead?). The international applications is quiet competitive. I don't know if I have a good chance of getting in?

dalcming - you have a strong resume, certainly strong enough to be admitted. What is most important for you is to demonstrate “fit” for UChicago in your application with your recommendations and essays. That’s a tough thing to do, but choose recommenders who will write well and honestly about your intellectual curiosity and abilities. On the essays, be honest and clear when you write. Speak from the head and heart. Best of luck to you.

Are you going to full pay? International students who needs financial aid are more competitive than domestics and UChicago is need aware. So your apps will also be gauged by the needs you are asking.

Don’t worry. I am not applying for financial aid. I know financial aid seriously pulls down international students’ chance.
