Admission chances to Cornell

Hey all,

I'm an international student thinking about applying to Cornell (early decision). I'm a junior in High school. I'm a full IB (International Baccalaureate) student with a current average GPA of 3.91. I got 2080 on my SATs and I'm involved in numerous extra-curricular activities such as Student Council and Forensics. I also hold officer positions in numerous clubs: for example, one that deals with animal preservation and a cultural heritage club for my home country. I've done high-profile internships and have volunteered at organizations abroad. I'm thinking about taking SAT2s later this year.

If I write decent application essays when I apply, what are my chances?

For an international student, your SAT scores are low. To have a better shot, I recommend taking it again.

It also depends very much on which country you are from. Though yes- Retake the SAT, and do a few passionate ECs instead of ‘officer in numerous clubs’
