admission chances

my sat scores

hi guys

i'm tryin for an ivy league education.

in igcses (gr 9 -10) i got 6 As, 2 A*S and 1 B

My SAT score is 2220 (same percentage as 1480 on the old SAT)

Percentiles for Math - 97% (730)

And Verbal - 94% (690)

And Writing - 800

Extra curricular activities..i haven't really put everything together but i know for sure im not as involved as some ppl are..i do a few things but ths it

Wonderin how i would fare...Not really trying for Harvard...but Columbia would be great..even Stanford's awesome

This is the Carnegie Mellon board, not the OMG I HAVE TO GET INTO HARVARD board. For that, try "my chances" forum. If you're actually interested in CMU, which is a top engineering, business, and drama school, we'll be happy to tell you if you have a chance at that, even though it's pretty random sometimes.

And Stanford isn't an ivy. Better for engineering than the ivies, though.

course im interestin in carnegie..so yea if u hav any knowledge lemme no...im NOT tryin for harvard...thts obviously what i said..dono where CERTAIN ppl are gettin info from

u sound very arrogant.

Your "i'm tryin for an ivy league education" seemed to suggest that you were interested in schools that aren't CMU. Anyways, CMU's admit rates vary hugely between departments... H&SS is about 50%, but SCS is about 10% and drama is even less, so knowing what departments you're interested in would be very helpful. :)

lol sorry im only havin a bit of fun..not arrogant at all..i no there are way way better ppl than me out there..im jus bein a little careless in things i say so im sorry...anyways how much can this forum thing help anyways? it's jus a bit of fun and thts it..no one relly knows whats gonna happen..least of all ppl who r still applyin and waitin for admission

SCS's admit rate is higher than that... it has ranged from 12% to 22% in recent years. See factbook: http://www.cmu.edu/ira/facts1.htm

My bad... it is, however, much lower than H&SS.

school of design's admit rate is about 15%

Dont let the high percentages fool you, though. The amount of people who apply to each school is low, and many of them are highly qualified.
