“Last year, student’s who were admitted to the program had an average GPR of 3.77 with the majority of coursework from Degree Track E complete at the time of application.”

Mays is really hard to get into but yeah you don’t NEED a 4.0 to get accepted. That is a really high GPR average though. I’m probably screwed with my 3.30 60+hrs but at least I’m happy with my backup school. This wait is annoying though; I just want to know already!

My guess is space constrictions. Volunteer hours and work experience (internships or something related to business) will definately help. Which explains how people with 3.7’s get in, because their app could have a lot more credentials. My original post was only stating that kids with 4.0’s and good/decent essays could be denied, but when you add more stuff to your app like volunteer work, then it increases your chances.

Congrats mcalvelloxx on UT. Its got to be a pretty sweet deal to have UT in your backpocket. As for me though, I cant see myself as anything other than a Fightin Texas Aggie. However, I bet most decisions have been made already, they’re probably working on sending them out. Remember today is the 23rd many people last year got their decisions on April 30th.

Yes I applied for UT but, I was two credits short of the 30 credit minimum. So I have to send my transcripts in when the semester is over. I’m borderline an A in physics mechanics right now lol so… I don’t know if they will look down upon me if I bomb the final and get a B since its an engineering “indicator” course. GG to two finals on the same day (Calc II and Phys I)

Thanks blackag!
Is it fair to say that if I got into UT, I will get into A&M?
I like A&M more!!

I sure hope we hear by the 30th.
Gotta deal with housing :/

ampzor, you will be fine.
I’m taking an online web programming class at ACC and it’s awful.
Good thing it doesn’t transfer because my grade will be pretty lame.

I’ve been told by about 10 people that as long as you have a 3.0 and at least 24 hours then you’re in, but if you have like a 2.7 you would need to have a good essay. So to answer your question, I would guess a 3.0+ but I’m just going off of what the advisors and admission office have been telling me.

"A student must have a 3.0 to be considered for admissions by the College of Liberal Arts. From there it will depend on the applicant pool for that year.

I did. 3.87 GPA w/ 26 credits (calc I, sociology, 2 histories, music appreciation, freshman comp, tech writing, chem I) at the time of my app. Will have Calc II, Phys mechanics, and chem II complete after this semester. Wrote one essay and had one letter of rec from my chem prof (I dont think it matters though, because they dont look at letters of rec?).

Cool. I had a 3.83 i think with every class but chem 2, physics light, mag, and heat, and cal 2. From what you have heard Ampzor what are our chance of getting in with those stats? Hopefully well be meeting up there then

I’d say I (we) have a solid chance of getting in and so does the consoler that I talked to at a Prospective Student Center. (knock on wood) The reason that Im not 100% sure is that chem 2, calc 2, and physics I, arent completed and Im sure they would like to see what we’ve got. But, if the essays are good and well thought out, then it should bring the chances up. In all, I’d say I have a 75% shot. Although, 75% won’t make me sleep any better at night.
