I was recently accepted early decision to Wake Forest. In my letter they stated that they can revoke your admission if you don't show similar grades to what you have throughout high school. I am in NO danger of getting my admission revoked (and I don't plan to be haha... knock on wood), but I have always wondered what they would deem as not showing similar grades (would that be like getting Cs if you have had A and Bs throughout high school or would it be like failing a class or two?)? Any input would be appreciated as I am somewhat curious about this!

i think all schools say something like that in their acceptance letter. basically, they just want to make sure you didn’t completely check out of your second semester senior year.

that said, don’t get C’s on purpose. at least for me, I like to keep my grades up, but once I’m accepted and enrolled, i won’t stress about perfection anymore.

Colleges really would prefer not to revoke admission, so unless something drastic happens (significant drop in grades, legal trouble or other significant disciplinary issue), most colleges will try to work with you.

What I’ve seen is colleges sending letters out to certain students, asking for a written explanation of what happened. If the circumstance is drastic, they can rescind admission, but more commonly, they either let you in, or let you in but put you on academic probation immediately.
