Admission into Business School???

Hi there,
So I am trying to finalize my college decisions and pretty much everything is working out for UNC, so I really want to go!
I am an out of state student, and I am going to be taking under 7k in loans each year to attend, but surprisingly that's cheaper than what it would cost to go to my state school. I am going to be studying business in college, and UNC has an amazing business program....

my only concern is that with UNC, you have to apply to the business school as early as the summer before freshman year. I was already kind of shocked I got into UNC given my test scores (SAT CR+M 1270, ACT 29) and looking at the admitted students profile for the business school (SAT 1346) I am a little concerned about getting in. I don't want to commit and pay to go to UNC only to find out after a year or so that I did not even get into the school that I want to study in. How does the whole admission process work for business and what can I do to get there? Please help! Thank you!

That certainly is a common concern for most aspiring BSBA majors at UNC. You normally apply to KF in your sophomore year, when you have most if not all of the KF pre-reqs completed (or at least in process). The application process also includes an interview.

It is one of the more competitive majors to gain admission at UNC. Approximately 50% of UNC student applicants to KF actually gain acceptance. Some students that don’t get into KF look at economics as an alternative with perhaps a minor in entrepreneurship. You can also take KF business courses without being a BSBA major. Both approaches can round out a pretty solid resume for jobs or graduate school.

To get into KF you obviously need a good UNC GPA and definitely a strong performance in the pre-reqs. KF is also big on demonstrated leadership, so seek out those types of opportunities in your ECs. Have a well thought out career plan when applying and know how KF will help you meet your aspirations.
