Admission into the UC's?!

Chance me!
I really want to go to the following UC's but idk if my stats are good enough!
UCI, UC DAVIS, UCSB, UCSD
UC GPA: 3.22
ACT: 25 ( getting upto 29 or 30)
took 5 AP's junior and senior year. Got an AP Scholar Award.
Was President of an Indian Cultural Club in Senior Year and Club Rep Junior year
Did soccer and volunteered ALOT! over 200 volunteer hours
Do i have a shot? :/

Did you play soccer all four years of high school? Were you a captain? What about SAT II’s?

I played Varsity freshman year thats all, because i tore my ACL ligament and i couldnt play through out the rest of high school. I took the Bio Subject Test, i havent gotten my scores back yet!

Well, your UC GPA and ACT are going to make UCSD a reach…I don’t really know much about the others…if you have any other ECs make sure you mention them. You’ll have to rely on some well-written essays to really stand out, as you will arrive at these schools amongst a sea of higher GPAs and standardized test scores.

Are you in-state? What type of volunteer work? (like just random hours, or was it for a certain organization, etc…)

Yeah, im in state! and my volunteer work was not random, i focused on animal shelters and homeless organizations, such as Found Animals Organization and an organization in Downtown LA. Also, i volunteered at homeless shelters in Downtown LA as well. also, i forgot to mention, my school is VERY competitive its ranked third in California after Oxford and Whitney!

I wish you luck, but suggest you add riverside. My son had that GPA, only got into Riverside, and that was after wait listing. Relatively good SAT, four-year varsity soccer, captain twice, and MVP of the schools league. Also yearbook editor, student council…so…play it safe.

Only three APs though, and school not competitive.Your volunteer work sounds great!

Google “UC freshman admission profile PDF for each school”.
