Not at all. It could actually mean that the academy changed something about the Admission Status, and the "change date" is real and meaningful.

Or it could be a simple IT error.

What I am saying is that without the previously reported "Admission Status" line entry that actually showed us what was happening (removed from the DODMERB web site about a month ago), a simple change of "Admission Status Change Date" could be nothing to get excited about, as reported by many many other candidates and parents.

I would hate to think I became excited over a computer error.

Hence my advice not to read too much into it.

True, I plan on calling my BGO tomorrow and finding out (since today of course was a holiday). Will keep posted on the change date and NALOA subagency meaning.

For what it's worth, my son received a call from his MOC telling him he was being offered an appointment five days after we noticed the status date change. (Thanks to PaulRevere, we checked)The appointment arrived a week later. I hope you experience the same positive result!

I called admissions and was told that I was found scholastically qualified, but that I needed to get my medical waiver completed (had my appointment today). Does anyone know if this basically means I get my waiver and I am good to go. The women at the admissions office was vague about it, but her exact words were "get your waiver in and you will be hearing some good news." Also, anyone know the level of competition among those with SECNAV nominations? I read somewhere that those found scholastically Q'd competed with those in their nomination category, thus the SECNAV question. Thanks in advance for any ideas or thoughts.

My DODMERB post changed to an LOA on Feb 8. Got a principle appointment.
Waiting for a waiver for vision..I think I'm close to the edge.
anisometopia in excess of 3.5 diopters and visual acuity not correctable to 20/20 in each eye.
Admissions said it could be another 4-6 weeks...WOW, just glad I know I don't want to be a pilot.

how did you know you got a principal appointment? my admissions status coming from USNA is scholastically q'd awaiting medical waiver. how did you find out this information?

^^^ some MOCs may offer that information, some won't. Its a matter of asking. In our case, the information was not shared by the congressman or the senator's office.

USNCorpsman, I believe ted 2012 meant a principle nomination. (Some MOC's rank their nominees, thereby giving their most weight in ranking to their principle/first choice to go forward to the Academy for consideration.) Your nomination classification would, I believe, have 170 appointment slots available (from the USNA online catalog...if you need the page number reference let me know, and I'll look it up). So, you're competing between however many in your category (other reservists, etc) have made application to obtain one of those 170 appointments. My understanding is that your case is looked at differently than the Congressional nominations. Again, as Whistle Pig and others have implored...ask your BGO for the empirical on this.
Congrats to all that have received their Appointments! And, "hang on tight" for those that are in that time period of waiting to know. Not an easy time, I know...

Just called admissions today re: admission status... they confirmed that it was an appointment! And when I got home, I got a call from my congressman. Not a bad day. :)

My admissions status changed today and I got a call from my Senator. I feel sorry for some of these people who had their files finished weeks ago and still haven't heard anything. I only played the waiting game for two weeks and went just about crazy.
