My "Admission Status Change Date" was changed to today's date. Does this mean I should be hearing from the Academy soon?

My senator's office called me on Thursday to inform me that I would be getting an appointment, but my admissions status didn't change till today, so I bet you're gonna get good news! :)

Ahhh, can the status reflect when a candidate has been found to be "Triple Qualified"? Or is merely used as a tool of informing the candidates for the final decision...

Yup I've been Triple Q'ed and I just got my nomination 2 weeks ago and my status just changed today as well.

I've had a LOA since October and last week I found out from all 3 MOCs that I received their nominations. They said an appointment should arrive this week; and my status was changed today as well.

I would think in your case, unless you just finished your packet, that it is a final decision.

My son has been triple qualified with a nom since the end of November, and his status has not changed since Sept. (He hasn't received an appt.) So, the date change seems to indicate a large envelope will soon be on its way . . . judging from prior posts I have read. Congratulations.

Are you finding the "Admission status change date" on the USNA candidate site? Or the dodmerb site? Or . . . ?

DoDMERB is where you can see it.

Thanks, I see it now. It changed in September when DoDMERB qualified. Just waiting on word from USNA.

Apparently final decisions are being made, just not sure how long it takes to receive big envelope.

Son's DoDMERB Admin Status date changed 24 Jan. Called BGO a few days later to inquire. BGO called next night saying offer of appointment being made. Nothing received so far.

Must be a coincidence. My status date changed in september and I still havent heard. I wish there was somewhere we could find out if a decision has been made. The waiting is killing me!

Marinemid,

I cannot state definitively, but I think September would be too early for final Admissions Board action for other than LOAs.

Was September perhaps the date your candidate package was totally complete? I believe the Admissions Status Date is updated at that point.

Folks with more knowledge, please chime in.

Son's Admin Status Date changed on 24 Jan. Big envelope received yesterday, so in his case about a week and a half between update and receipt.

Marinemid, It probably changed to "In Process" in september.

If you're genuinely confused, call your Admissions Officer. They're receptive to making sure you are clarified. These are not crystal goblets that will shatter when the phone rings. They are there to serve. If you need definitive counsel, this is not where you should seek it. All ours are opinions, albeit many are informed, but in the end, just and only that.

I got my appointment today!

It was dated 6FEB.

Dodmerb question...my admission status change date changed 15FEB08 and there is a subagency of NALOA. Does this mean Naval Academy Letter of Assurance? I am currently under waiver review on Dodmerb and I have to go to a MTF to have an exam concerning allergy shots that were taken three years ago. Everything I have read states that this subagency is in fact an LOA, and my BGO told me I would go before the board last Thursday (14FEB08), but I hate to assume anything at this point. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes, you now have an LOA. My son received his 7-10 after that appeared on the DODMERB page. Congrats!!

THANK YOU!!! I hated to assume that, but that was my hope. I didn't know they gave out LOAs this late. Do you know if it is guaranteed to USNA or is it possibly to NAPS? I am currently a Navy reservist, but I have kept up with my course work in school and have had all the classes NAPS teaches, but I have heard they like all prior enlisted to go to NAPS anyway. Thank you again for that huge piece of information and for your help.

I have not heard of LOA's for NAPS, anyone else? I know when we had that screen, I just called USNA to ask and they said "congrats." What would the point of NAPS be for you? You are taking classes and are apparently competent academically, so why would they send you there? Good luck!
