I've heard several people tell me different things on this, but do regular decision privates make a decision, then look at first semester senior year grades to verify that you're not dropping a lot, or do they wait until they receive first semester senior year grades and then make their decisions?

they receive your transcript with your senior grades as part of your application, so I'd assume they look at senior grades first...

Does anyone have any other ideas? Not to doubt you, but it seems odd that they'd ask for your transcripts from after junior year when you submit your application Jan. 1 and then your grades for first semester senior year separately. But then again, there's a final grade report with all your grades as well, which supports them making decisions based on first semester because otherwise they wouldn't ask for a midyear report.

for rd, I say senior grades are looked at first- the schools get the mid-year reports but also your transcripts with 1st quarter grades I think- since almost all say grades are the most important thing- I'd assume they make sure they see the most up to date that they can.
