I want to go into engineering and i noticed that most schools have a separate college for engineering. Is it harder to get into a school with a certain major like this rather than just applying to the school with an undecided major?

yes, that's correct.

Like for me, I got accepted to Univ. of Illinois, which has like 9 different colleges within it.

I wanted to go into business(but my ACT score is just slightly below their wishes, they want 27+ and I got 26), then they have engineering, which is like 28 or 29 and above).

Had I gotten a 27+ on my ACT's, I probably wouldn't have gotten into the Business program, cause there's so much competition and my 3.72 GPA with my 27 or 28 wouldn't have gotten me in.

I got into colleges of Agricultural and Consumer Economics and Sciences and was the only way I would get into there(cause they accept 24-26 GPA's). And I found a major that is related to business, and I felt adequate enough to go ahead with that.

I'd try to find a major that you're interested in. If u can't get in based on that, go undecided.
