What GOBU is saying is true and it reflects BU's commitment to CGS not anything bad.

I didn't mean to talk down to CGS at all - I have a lot of friends there and I know a lot of smart people there. I mean the VP of the student union (yes, laugh all you want) is from CGS and now in COM and he's doing amazing stuff including running a private business on top of all the school.

I was trying to point out that there are special exceptions made at times that, though unfair at face value, reflect careful consideration on the part of the University. Regarding SMG and SM299 in particular (contrary to GOBU, you can't take classes in SMG until you've taken SM299 even if you're in UNI) CGS students HAVE to get into a school... I wasn't aware of this before, but there's no support system so to speak, you have to be accepted into another school after the 2 years.

The SMG Dean has had 20+ years of data to back up what GOBU said about CGS students scoring slightly lower than average. SO, all things considered, they decided that this WASN"T because of aptitude but merely not having the same background of presentations, technical analysis, and testing that some of the other 299 students have.

On a slightly different note - the sections were all jacked up this year except for the CGS sections. IUT students were mixed with Grad students, mixed with minors and requirement students (Some SAR students have to take the class).

I hope that clears up what I was saying.

Yes, thank you. It's just I have been hearing a lot of negative things about CGS lately (hence my thousands of pro-CGS posts) and happened upon something you had said and took it the wrong way. I apologize for that. It's just people create such a stigma as in "your scores are too high for CGS - apply to CAS." It's just a little frustrating.

Yeah , so you go into CGS for 2007? I bet you might need some books for classes.
I am a current student at CGS, who go in for 2006 and have some of the books you'll need for class. I will sell them to you significantly cheaper than any other place you can buy them. Additionally I ll be here in campus to give them to you as soon as you need them, no waiting for shipments or waiting in line for the books.

is it not possible to gain acceptance to cgs, then before it starts decide to transfer to a different college?

Chocolate, don't count on it. Maybe if you had a 4.0 your last semester and retook the SAT, but I'm pretty sure it's not possible.

No can do. CGS is a 2 year program.
