If you DON'T get into Ross, does that mean you don't get into LSA? (I know at Penn it works that way -- if you don't get into Wharton, you don't get into Penn)

BTW, I'm talking about the Preadmit here. :)

Not quite sure, but I still think you get considered for LSA even if you don't get into Ross.

At Michigan, in order to be pre-admitted into Ross, you must first be admitted into one of the colleges that enroll students straight out of high school (generally the college of LSA or Engineering). Once admitted into one of those colleges, Ross may consider you for pre-admit. So, it is definitely very possible that an applicant is admitted into Michigan but not pre-admitted into Ross.

So application to LSA and application to Ross Preadmit are two different applications with two different deadlines?

no, you apply same time, first the first college (lsa, engr, etc.) takes a look and says "Hey you're In!". The ross gets your application and says "preadmit or not". If you don't get preadmit it does not mean that you can't get into michigan

Your Ross pre-admit decision has absolutely no impact on your LSA / Engineering decision. Most applicants won't get in pre-admit.
