admission to STERN

what is stern's 'ideal student' for admissions in the full-time MBA program?

i know u guys aren't the admissions officers, but please! give me an idea of my chances (majoring in international business at San Francisco State University) with a 3.8 gpa.

i work at a real estate office and i have other good ECs. and assuming i score well on the GMAT, do i have a shot at STERN? what are they looking for? does it matter that i didn't attend a competitive school for my undergraduate education? to get into business school, do i need to major in something business related?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

any guidance or advice will be appreciated!

You should go on one of the grad school threads.

but at least here its specifically nyu students

you need work experience. Unless you started a company or something and it is very successful don't expect to get into respected MBA program right out of college, because chances are that it would most likely not happen, even with a really high gpa. But there can always be exceptions. you should work a few years and then go for an MBA, to get the most for the money that you will spend. you will not be making the same 6 digit figure after your MBA because unlike most of your fellow students, yu will lack experince.

thanks legionaire
