I recently recieved a letter from Cal Grant with the amount that i’m eligible for. This may not sound like it’s related to the UCs admissions, but what i found out was that the letter came with a form that you fill out if u plan to go to some other campuses other than the first one that’s listed on the letter or if you have any changes you want to make. The thing is that the return address on there is UCLA’s address, and not berkeley’s or davis’ which I also applied for. I also recieved letters from davis saying I got accepted. But why is UCLA’s address on there and not the other campuses? does it mean that I got accepted to UCLA? My brother also recieved the same letter, but on his form it’s UCSD’s address, which he has already confirmed that he got into UCSD. He also applied to Berkeley and UCLA and Davis and have gotten into Davis as well, but how come the return address on his form is UCSD and not the other ones? So because of this I’m wondering if that means maybe i got accepted to UCLA already excpt the formal decision hasn’t been sent out. At the same time, I also asked another friend of mine who recieved the same letter and for his form it’s berkeley’s address. Although Cal didnt send him any formal decisions yet but he’s one of those who made it into the second round since he was requested for more info and essays from HAAS which he applied to. So does that mean perhaps he got into Berkeley then? Both he and I have placed Berkeley for our first priority choices, but on my form its UCLA and for his it’s Berkeley’s address, and the same goes for my brother, but his it’s UCSD, which he knows he got into already.
Does anyone who works for or heard from the UCs or Cal grant depts know anything about this?
<p>dude UCLA decisions came out about 2 weeks ago. check on UCLA's website.</p>
<p>Are you sure its the schools address? It's just the coding for the first school listed on the CAR. The address that it needs to be sent is within the previous sentence.</p>

<p>The poster's username is "UCtransfer0123", transfer admission decisions aren't made until late April.</p>
<p>yes, you're right, it's just the school code and the first campus listed there. But why is it UCLA there and not the other campuses I applied for? Is it really just a coincident that my friend's form has Berkeley there while my brother's form has UCSD there? even though we all applied to the other campuses as well. I don't think it has to do with the priority that we placed for the schools since we all had Berkeley as first priority.</p>
<p>Really? That's odd... is Berkeley listed as one of the three?</p>
<p>it doesnt mean anything, except that it was the first school you listed on your FAFSA application. Mine has UCLA listed also, but I was devastedly rejected two weeks ago, and it kills me to look at it now... But anyways, it means nothing.</p>
<p>really? what was your gpa and other factors when you applied to UCLA? and what major you applied to?</p>
<p>I applied for business econ with a 3.5 and a few extra activities, and the only class that really dragged down my gpa was this C from calc, most of everything else are A's. I completed the IGETC and all other required courses and also one or two non-required business required courses.
what do you guys think my chances are? suppose I have an average personal statement.</p>
<p>blackstar is right. the only thing it means is that you listed ucla first and it should say that also somewhere on the fafsa application. i put ucla first too and i also got rejected so it means absolutely nothing except that you listed ucla as your first school.</p>
<p>Actually i didnt put UCLA as first or first priority. They just put them in that order themselves. My brother applied to the same schools too but his order of those campuses are different and for his form it says UCSD.</p>
<p>i'm sorry but that's impossible uctransfer- they don't prioritize the schools, they only go on the order you put down. i would call them up if you didnt mean to put ucla first because some schools like ucsd offer scholarship opportunities but only if you list their school first and have a certain gpa or something i think i read in the back of the general uc manual. the fact that ucla came up as the return address means that you put it first, while your brother put ucsd first even though he applied to the same schools.</p>
<p>nope, actually I didn't even put UCLA there first. I asked around others and found out that it's THEM who listed the campuses in that order, so I had nothing to do with it that UCLA showed up on the form and the first one on the list on the letter. Anyways, what do you think my chances are for UCLA?</p>
