I know some people get into UW with lower stats than the most of the applicants. I’m hoping to give people hope so please share your stats!
I’m currently a freshman, and I was only “slightly above average” compared to the rest of my high school.
I only had a 3.6 GPA (but it was 4.1 weighted) all thanks to one semester junior year where I had my lowest GPA (3.4). That being said, I took a ton of AP classes and was president of one club and co-president of another, and through my essay I talked about why I wanted to be a teacher so I can guide future generations.
Don’t worry, because UW often does a very, VERY holistic review of their applicants, so if you have a lot of activities in high school, a good essay with some powerful words, and some AP/IB/Honors classes, you’ll be fine.
