Hello,
In 2017, I was admitted by Muir of UCSD for International Business. However, I hardly passed my senior year with Ds. My admission was therefore rescinded. It’s about to be my second year of community college, but I have performed poorly as I haven’t figured out anything that I am good at (academically). I have been through the trials and hardships of being a businessman, and finally, I have understood how to be financially free. Now, I want to go back to school for the same major that I was accepted to in high school, due to its immediate relevance to my life. Is there any way I can start without completing the courses at community college? I am self-educated. I have not been wasting my time in adolescent triviality but instead the suffering of my own self-realization, both internal and more recently extrenal.
Thank you.
I received a 1370 SAT score/1600.
I passed over 11 AP Exams with a 3 or better and 5 with a 4 or better.
I graduated high school with a 3.6, even with my senior year downfall (depression, angst, reevaluation, family deaths, etc.)
I have now found myself and have incredible work ethic and focus. I am balanced in the walks of life. I have learned how to learn most efficiently. I am socially competent and I have been dealing with the business world since I was 17. I am now 19.
What can I do? I want to go to school to have a competitive edge as a businessman, but community college does not exactly provide what I am looking for.
The UC transfer rules are pretty much set in stone. If you don’t have the required classes, it’s unlikely they will accept you.
You could look at different schools, but if you have poo cc grades, those might be tough too.
You cannot erase that you attended community college and cannot apply as a Freshman for the UC’s or Cal states. Any UC transferable courses taken at the CC will follow you to any UC.
All UC’s require a minimum 60 semester/90 quarter units to transfer so if you can want to continue your education at a UC, you should complete the transfer requirements needed at your current CC.
How many units have you accumulated at your CC? What is your current CC GPA?
There may be some private schools or OOS schools depending upon how many units you have completed, that may consider you a Freshman applicant. You need to do some research to see what is possible.
While you may feel that community college does not provide you with what you are looking for, the net-net is that you are currently attending community college and you are not performing well there.
You will have to submit that community college transcript when it is time for you to transfer, whether it is to UCSD or anywhere else. Right now you have 0 chance of going to UCSD until you get your academic self together. Turn things around finish strong and transfer someplace when you complete your associates
You can do a search for colleges that accept everyone. They’re out there, and some are in some pretty nice locations. The downside is that you will not get financial aid, and if you continue to perform poorly, you’ll find yourself with a pile of debt and nothing to show for it.
