Transfer after being rescinded

So its nearing application season and I would like to apply to UCLA as a transfer.

A little backstory: Laat year, I applied as a freshman and was accepted. However, my grades dropped dramatically in my senior year because of personal issues. After an anxiety inducing wait, my admissions was officially rescinded.

Back to present day. Now I’m applying as a transfer from community college. I am working on my application and I’m kind of at a loss. I haven’t been in community college very long and haven’t really gotten involved. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any guidance on what to do with regard to writing my application (Also can I include high school experiences?).

Thanks!!!

Will you have 60 semester/90 quarter units by Spring 2019? Will you have all the course requirements for UCLA and major completed by Spring 2019?

Since UC’s accept Junior level transfers, nothing from HS will be considered. They want to see what you have accomplished in your CC.

I am going to move this the UC transfer forum where you should get some better guidance.

based on your other post, you are a first semester college student. You cannot apply to UCLA as a transfer until next year at the earliest.

In the meantime, make sure that you take IGETC classes and any course requirements for your prospective major. Earn as many A’s as you can this year. See if you can get into your community college’s honors program (where you can obtain excellent advice for transferring to UC).

Good luck.

I assume you have a lot of AP if you got in as a freshman, right? Whether you will have major req completed by spring (and ideally GE or IGETC) will be the main criteria. Plus, you need 30 units from a community college to transfer with priority consideration and, of course, 60 transferable units, both by end of next spring. If you did not do summer school, there will be few courses to actually judge you on, and that might be tough, and you might not be able to reach 60. If you do qualify and you apply be sure to mention you got in as a freshman to UCLA so they can gauge your strengths from that.

Since you were just in high school last year you can include those later ECs.

I have about 20 credits of transferrable units from a combination AP scores and summer courses. With the classes I have now, all the way through spring 2019, I’ll have 62 units total. So I think I’d transfer as a junior. I’m a political scoence major btw. Thank you guys for the help!!!

Yes, a junior! But 21 units both fall and spring semesters? You need 90 quarter.

Oh no, I’m also taking classes during the winter! Sorry for not clarifying! I was really excited to go to UCLA so when I set this all in motion, I had my mind set on doing what I needed to do. Plus, after one month of community I know I couldn’t do it for 2 years. It’s not for me (not that good at making friends lol so I’m holding out hope that I get housing if I get accepted, since I know that only incoming undergrads get the guarantee).

If you are on the quarter system at your CC, then you need 90 quarter units. If you are on the semester, then you need 60 semester units.

Will you have all required courses GE’s and major requirements completed by Spring 2019 for UCLA? If you 20 units now, you need another 70 by Spring 2019.
