How much weight does Barnard College place on the SAT writing score?(because some schools don’t place any emphasis on the writing score)
Oh…I actually score higher in the writing section than in reading section…
Does Barnard put equal weight on each section?
How’s the avg stats(Math+Reading)of the people who get in Barnard?

Cjenny, Barnard has a very holistic approach to admissions. Most of their students have fairly high scores, but I don't think that its a matter of "weight" being placed on any particular score. I think that you probably should simply do your best on the test and then focus your time on your high school academics and your passions (ECs, athletics, music -- whatever drives you).

I do think that the fact that you have a high writing score is good for Barnard simply because the writing requirements for classes are pretty intense -- you'll do better once you get there if you express yourself well in writing. My d. also had a much higher SAT writing score than CR/Math, but I don't think it had anything to do with admissions because she did not submit her SATs. (She submitted ACT instead, but she did not do as well on the ACT Writing as she had done on the SAT). But I do think that the Barnard ad com would tend to place value on that score.... its just that I don't think they have a formulaic approach.

Thanks calmom =)
