Admissions and Varsity Sports

I hope you get caught. Your good friend the coach doesn't sound like he's letting you off the hook. As a HS and college athlete I know what playing a sport with a full AP schedule is like. Our 2 games each week were also as far as 2 hous away. I would never have dreamed on leaving my teamates before a season ended.

The question you asked is: Is it OK to lie? Grow up. It's not.

How are you surviving college? You're too stupid to read any of the things I posted. I never said I was doing it. I asked a question. You should stop while you are ahead. Idiot.

You will never get into a college anywhere near the one I'm surviving at and with those SAT scores it would be insulting the disabled if I sunk to the names you've called me.

Ok guys settle down, the argument lost its bearing a couple posts ago

Okay to close it up, and to prevent any other misunderstanding:

This is just a question

I am not going to do this especially for the fact, I'm going to particpate in this sport next year anyway. (I know I'll make the team too)

Two people managed to answer it, but if any other individuals can it will be helpful.

"I don't mean to be a dishonest person, but I just want an honest answer. I still have one more year to make up for it, but do colleges require "hard evidence" that proves you participated in a varsity sport at the 100 percent mark? My school doesn't keep the sports within the records if anybody wanted to know. Do schools actually research an individual's background to the extent that they'd scan their extra curriculars by perhaps calling in local areas to verify the truth? Has anyone here participated in a varsity sport, wrote it down on their application.. and was it over with... or did the school attempt to question you about it. Thanks."

If you are on the final roster for the team, include it. All these people telling you that it isn't right and is unfair is garbage. You do what will benefit you the most.

Okay, I'll double check on that. But.. worst case scenario. They removed me off the final roster.

Is there a big chance I will get hurt if I had this on my application? I know that a lot of guys have done varsities etc, but was there anything more than just putting it down on an app? After writing it down, was it a done deal.. or were you questioned... asked about it in the future? My school doesn't put sports on our transcripts by the way.

You are putting too much faith into the investigational tactics used by colleges. You type in a small box saying that you participated in the sport and you describe your involvement (if required). As of this moment, less than 10% of applications are investigated. If they were, for any reason, to investigate your participation with this team, they would only look for the final roster to confirm.

I'll double check to see if Im still on the roster. Thanks for the help though. Out of these 30 posts made in this thread, I have found the answer I was looking for. Thanks.

Lol I know how you feel. Good luck

on the application just say memeber for 3/4ths of the season .. that way it is all good
