Dude, I'm going to have one heck of a finals week at my CC. Three high-stress exams w/in three days and the Stanford decision.

I wonder how the person (if it is a person) is supposed to deal with people who start crying over the phone.

^ or if the caller/rejectee sobs "now I'm going to kill myself...". they'll probably direct you to some suicide hotline. Or the stanford psych department <- totally spankin' awesome ^_^

For those of you wanting the excitement of snail mail: wouldn't the thickness of the envelope give it away already? Or are you guys planning to play your ipod, pray, do a ritual war dance, get the coffin ready, etc BEFORE openning the mailbox? (every single day of the waiting?)

I am at odds with Stanford's psyc dept. Its waaay to easy to get lost in their building.

maybe they designed the building that way on purpose. some sort of weird psych experiment.

so..... someone please direct me:

What's the number?

When can I call?

Can I call? I'm domestic, but I also live in MA... mail is not gonna get here for a while.

What's the PIN number?

thanks.

I know three years ago you could call. My teacher's daughter called and got a live person. She was asked for some identifying info (name, SSN, mother's maiden name, that type of stuff), and the admissions officer told her her decision (she got in!).

So when can you start calling?

haha they're gonna get sworn at so much during those days...........

Im calling yesterday... courtesy of michael J. fox

So for RD students, have they get their decisions on April 1st (april fools day)?

on aprils fools day:

Ad Rep: Congratlations... you got in...!
crying of happiness on other end
Ad Rep: APRIL FOOLS, unless you were a CCer, we rejected you

^ lol that's what I was thinking :)

I just called and asked if/when they would be making decisions available via phone, and they told me they're going to e-mail decisions. Not sure if that means they won't be allowing phone calls, but it seemed that's what they meant ("Actually, we're sending e-mails on December 15..").

^ nooo I don't want an email decision - so anticlimatic, just like asking someone out on IM!! I'll just turn off my gmail notifier and wait for the mailwoman.

ill take the email.

i'll take whatever i can get, maybe it'll be a big email file or a small email file as befits your status (acceptance vs. rejection)

^ ha. maybe a 10 meg email that'll crash your account for acceptances? lol

Yeah... I think I'd prefer the e-mail. I'd really hate to be rejected over the phone

i wonder what time itll come, eastern time that is, ill prob be in school...
