Hey I need some help! OSU is my safety so I haven’t done a lot of research but I have a friend who is very interested in OSU- it is his first choice. Today he got deferred and was very upset about it. Does anyone know any stats about how many deferred applicants get in? Or about what the best way to turn this into an acceptance is? His midyear report isn’t great unfortunately, but an update letter about extracurriculars or some creative “love letter” maybe? Any help would be great
Of all the responses I have read…I have yet to see one student athlete respond here. Why is that?
Checked today and i got ACCEPTED!!! I just cant wait to be a Buckeye.
Stats:
OOS (Georgia)
Athletic Training
GPA 3.4/3.5 (not really sure.)
Rank 14/336
ACT 21
Before i got accepted reading the other post really made me feel i had no chance of getting in. Definitely when it came to test scores. But i wanted to post my stats to show other aspiring students that not everyone’s stats are going to be the same and you should continue to have faith in yourself…GOOD LUCK to those still waiting.
OH-IO!!!
P.s i applied to the Morrill Scholarship and havent heard back yet. Im hoping my essay was good enough
What are your friend’s stats (class rank and ACT/SAT)?
@osuprof 32 ACT and about 100/371 rank (not exact- don’t remember)
Unfortunately, not being in top 25% of the class is a killer for Ohio State, as far as I know (unless one is minority or a recruited athlete). 95% of their enrollees were in top 25% of their HS class, and this data point is very important to OSU. Anyways, let us hope for the best, while making sure your friend gets other applications out.
Accepted yesterday!!! I am so excited to bleed scarlet and grey for life!!
Stats:
OOS (Michigan)
ACT: 32
GPA: 4.4
10+ APs
Rank: 4/550
Very strong ECs (student council president, student liaison to board of education, 200+ volunteer hours, etc…)
Does anyone know when we will hear back about scholarships? I know the committee deciding on the Morrill scholarships doesn’t even get to read essays until the person’s been accepted, but what about the National Buckeye or Maximus?
Has anyone heard from morrill scholars yet?
@kau123 There’s a thread for it!
Thank you! @Chopinspiano
Did you do an interview for Case Western?
Admitted to OSU yesterday, Early admit to Notre Dame, Purdue, Valparaiso, Rose Hullman but deferred for Case.
